Well, plenty of adults around here dress up. I don't know what the kids do or if there's competition among the moms. I know in my last neighborhood (a la Stepford Wives), we had so many trick or treaters, I used 11 bags of candy the last year I lived there. Since moving to this house, we have not had one and it doesn't bother me at all. Who wants to climb up the hill?
I first noticed the thing with adults dressing up when I moved to AZ. I thought it was a thing out west. But, it wasn't. I have clients spending every weekend in Salem until Halloween.

Love Halloween.
People in our office dress up - about 15 of us - and we get together for a potluck lunch. This year I will be the Devil with a Blue Dress On!
