I like the platform pedals with the little steel pins sticking out of them. They came with my commuting bike when I bought it 4 years ago and it only took one chilly ride in warm hiking boots to convince me. Now I've put them on my touring bike as I use it around town a lot. The grip is almost as good as SPD, the wider platform supports my feet a lot better, and I can use any soft soled shoe on them.

Naw, I thought purple would be nice, but then it could clash. I think I will order those nuke pedals today. Hopefully they will get here before it rains again.

Speaking of rain, let's all say a prayer for the people in Colorado who most likely have lost everything. I doubt home owners' insurance covers their losses. You have to have flood insurance. How many people would have flood insurance in the mountains???

I am still looking at pedals. I am looking at these: Any advice. I am tired of my feet slipping of the pedals but because I am so inept at climbing hills, I don't want to go clipless yet

Everyday I have a new bicycle adventure with my SO. I have asked him to help me adjust the seat height and length. He kept saying it was fine and I would get used to the cramped and hurting knees. Well three miles of riding (we'd planned 12) I told him I was going home because I didn't want too ride the bike anymore. Well, he adjusted what I needed him to. But he finished it off that we are taking to the dealer and have them fit me. Well, duh, that should have been right off the bat.
The once we got moving I had to tell him he must tell me when is stopping or passing me. There was some of the road; thank goodness I saw him out of my mirror and didn't crash into him.

Of those, I like the look of the second and last ones the best.

I have a set of the Forte pedals for my CX bike for when I took it on MTB trails, but I haven't really ridden on them very much.

It seems I scratched up my leg using the "pin" pedals I have on my new hybrid. I read a review that says I am on my way to tearing up my legs should I continue to use these. I still love the pedals anyway and I am still trying to figure out what to put on my road bike. I don't want clipless or straps.

While I researching the pedals I came across the blog. I think it is great. There are other blogs on the site which are enjoyable to read as well.

I can wholeheartedly recommend the Shimano PD-MX30 platform pedals! They have pins, but they aren't so sharp that your leg will get torn up, but I find I can still get a very good pull with them.

I think there's a learning curve with BMX-style pedals and trying to keep yourself from shredding your legs. I know Catrin has used similar pedals. Hopefully she'll see this and weigh in.
