I know but . . . as usual a "but" . . . I need to watch for him. I tried to ride in front of him, but it is really hard for me to keep looking back over my shoulder and feel safe. I am so scared something might happen that I want to be behind him. I've looked at all kinds of mirrors for the road bike so I could ride in front. I tried to make a helmet mirror work on my old helmet with no luck. I have a new helmet and I think I can clip a helmet mirror in it so I might try that again. We also bought a mirror that fits in the road bike handlebar where the end plug is. Every time I move I knock it out of focus so that doesn't work either.

Today he had to stop to rest several times and if I hadn't been behind him, I would never have known he stopped. He has an e-assist bicycle but because of the terrain combined with the person we were following it wasn't as efficient as possible. I think the person we were behind had even had worse skills than my SO! I couldn't even ride behind him very well. He just rode "weird." We passed him a couple of times but for some reason he would always wind up in front of us again. I almost crashed into him a couple of times. (As you might have inferred, I didn't enjoy the group ride with either of them. When it is only my SO and me we do much better.)
