Thanks for replying. I will let you know how it goes. I think I would have spent more time looking for a hybrid if I had I known that our bikes would be recovered. But to not have a bicycle to ride . . . what kind of life is that??????

I was really hesitant to buy the bike but my SO and LBS said it was fine. I have only ridden the Trek for about 5 miles and am pretty shaky. I guess if it doesn't work out, there is always Craig's list. LOL

I am a little over 5'1. I have really short legs and a long torso. the LBS put a shorter stem on the bike for me which helped. I am more concerned about the reach than anything. The hybrid is the same size as my old Giant and I was really concerned, but the LBS and my SO said I was making a big deal out if it because the bike didn't come smaller. Of course, they didn't crash on the Giant the way I did. (The wheels on the Ruby are the same size as the wheels on the hybrid.)

I looked up the geometry and that does look similar between the Ruby and the FX7.6 (some difference, but that not far off). The biggest difference is really how you are sitting on the bike since the Ruby has drop bars and the FX has straight bars. With straight bars you are sitting much more up right than with the drop bars. Believe me I know as I have a Trek mountain bike, which I'm not nearly as comfortable on as I am my Felt F-5 (road bike) and the biggest difference is the bars, the mountain bike has straight bars and the F-5 has drop bars. I'm just personally more comfortable with the drop bars.
