Now I'm looking at the Terry Susan B.

I like the look of this bike.

I need help reading between the lines I'd like to find an errand-running, around-the-neighborhood kind of bike. This one is listed under the mountain bike category, but is described as a hybrid. I'd like a more upright ride than is shown in the picture (handlebar level at or above the seat), but not upright like a commuter. This gearing appears low and from my Bike Friday experience, I know the smaller wheels need higher gears to stay a little speedy, but maybe the 11-32 cassette is adequate? So, what do you think? With the proper adjustments would this be a neighborhood bike? Or does it seem to really be a mountain bike for off-road use? I don't know much (or anything) about mountain bike geometry so the numbers mean nothing to me.

And for some reason I want a silver bike with raspberry grips

I don't have any experience with this bike. But I do want to be an enabler and tell you that this bike is very pretty and would look great with raspberry grips!

    I second the raspberry grips.

Why not send an email to Georgena? I'm sure she'd be happy to answer any questions you have.

Oh you enablers! I was planning to e-mail or call Terry bikes. There are some for sale at BikesDirect - but not in silver. So raspberry grips get an approving thumbs up, now I just have to find out about the bike

Terry bikes will probably forward you to Georgena, so I'd just email her directly with the email address I gave you. Since she is the designer of the bike, I'm sure she will have the answers.

I just called Terry and a voice answered, "Hi, this is Georgena" and I thought, "Oh wow, the master herself. I'm going to be a babbling idiot!" But it was just the start of the voicemail message. So I babbled something anyway, and think I should maybe stick to e-mail where I can compose my thoughts better.
