Newbie to padded bike shorts...

Maybe I got a size to big? I just received the Breezer Boardshorts last night. The boardshorts themselves are in fact to big/baggy. The chamois, I'm not sure so maybe someone can help me? Is it supposed to protect your arse AND part of your inner thigh? They feel like they're resting on part of my thighs while I'm standing. Sitting on the bike? No. They were fine (great in fact) and I definitely notice a HUGE difference. So much so that I plan to order more padded shorts just maybe not the board shorts style. Worn together the boardshorts feel too baggy and loose around my legs and the crotch is too long for me too so that doesn't help. I used the measurements guide on T/E as a guide to order the 3x but I'm almost worried about returning them for a size smaller for fear they might be too small but I am losing weight weekly so I don't know. Any suggestions???

With that chamois, there should be some of the blue part along your inner thighs. But the most padded part should be between your legs.

I actually don't know if the chamois gets bigger or smaller as the shorts get bigger or smaller. Did you buy them from TE? If so you can call them and talk to them about how the 3x fit and whether a smaller size or different style would be better.

In the case of the padding fitting like you advised, I'd have to guess they're proper then and that's great. I did get them from TE so I'll def call them then and ask about the board shorts sizes. Thanks!

I had those shorts in version one... a couple of years later, I bought them in another color, same size and they were huge. The liner/chamois was OK, but the shorts, no.
This was a few years ago, but you are describing exactly what I experienced.
