I recently moved from Winter Park out to Colorado. People think I'm weird that I lock my doors when getting gas(I'm originally from South FL and they would steal purses out of cars at gas stations).

I do know that a few weeks ago a wallet got stolen out of a car parked at Windermere Elementary for the Sunday ride(they broke the window).

Only take what you need with you(debit card, id , insurance card) and carry them with you when you ride.

This also happened to my step mom at the gym a few years ago- they would sit and wait for women to walk into the gym without a purse and then smash a window and search under the seats.

I've recently taken to putting a little cash and just my important documents (licence, health insurance card, safety training documents from work etc.) into a little plastic folding pouch that slips into my back pocket. Nothing gets left behind in the car that is important. I think I got the pouch with pink cards from an insurance company at some point in the past, but I'm sure it's possible to buy something like it.

If I'm driving to meet people, I still only bring what I carry in a ziplock bag or two to put in my jersey pocket: cash, id, insurance info, cc card, and phone in one; if on longer rides, sunscreen, lip balm, wipes in a second).
