    Today (rest day)

    B: small slice of frittata, coffee
    S: banana
    L: chicken lettuce wrap at PF Changs
    S: 2 squares dark chocolate, some yogurt
    D: Asparagus/mushroom/onion saute with some roast pork

    Part of me wants to cut back on food for rest days, but my coach slaps my hands when I do that. I can certainly tell the difference in my performance the next day when I DO cut back on calories on rest days (and not in a good way).

    B: egg whites, corn tortilla, spinach, 3 turkey breakfast sausages, strawberries, coffee
    I started feeling really sick while I was eating. I've been sort of off all week, but this was bad. Then I went to the dentist and found out I need a graft procedure, probably as a result of the Invisalign braces I had. By this time, I had to go see a client at a school. No exercise for me today.
    L: tuna in oil on a 6 inch whole wheat pita, an orange
    S: piece of spelt bread with hummus, lots of water
    D: scallops seared in olive oil and a little butter on a bed of green beans marinated in oil and white vinegar, whole wheat cous cous
    I have to lead a ride tomorrow and still feeling bad, though not like this morning. Not looking forward to a 1.5 hour drive, riding in the heat, and hanging out for dinner. Hope some sleep will help.

    B: 2 scrambled eggs, 1/4 avocado, 2 slices bacon, slice of spelt whole wheat toast, 1/2 cup of coffee
    S: ate half a lara bar before leading a ride (31 miles)
    L: almond butter and jelly sandwich on Ezekial raisin bread, water, and yes, 1/4 of a mini sized blueberry pie we bought at a church fair
    D: 2 fish tacos, a couple of DH's fries, iced tea. small soft serve twist cone with chocolate dip
    Can you tell it's summer?

    B: 3 slices low salt ham, slice of provolone cheese, slice of spelt whole wheat toast, strawberries, coffee
    S: half a Lara Bar before fast 15 mile ride
    L: salad with arugula, tuna and olive oil, chick peas, whole wheat cous cous, green beans, chocolate vinegar, rest of the Lara bar, lotsof water
    S: slice of Iberico cheese, 2 whole wheat crackers
    D: 6 oz. top sirloin bought from a local farm, salad with lettucee from my neighbor's garden, with goat cheese and cranberries,mroasted Brussel sprouts, glass of rose wine

    Yesterday:

    B: Chorizo/parsley/broccoli frittata (may sound odd but quite yummy), coffee
    1 hour group training session followed by protein shake
    L: grass-fed burger (meat from local farmer), with roasted egg-plant as "bread', onion, lettuce and a small banana muffin cup for dessert
    S: one roasted bacon-wrapped medjool date (well, fresh side)
    D: braised brisket (from a local farmer), roasted brussel sprouts, carrots

    Today

    B: see yesterday
    L: braised beef brisket, 1/2 sweet potato, carrots, 1 small pear
    D: Planning on more brisket, broccoli "slaw", and some berries
    There is a LOT of brisket
    Hoping to get in an hour's bike ride if it doesn't storm!

    Chorizo, parsley and broccoli? That does sound weird! I'm making a frittata tonight so maybe I'll try it. ;-)

    I'm joining in again. We are back from Hawaii and I've got some serious weight to lose before the long bike rides we've got planned at the end of the summer!

    B: chicken apple sausage sauteed with TJ's healthy 8, topped with avocado. black coffee
    L: sausage and cabbage 'noodle' stir-fry
    S: banana
    D: sauteed Chinese broccoli, grilled salmon and roasted cauliflower

    No exercise today. I had my clothes out to ride at 5:15 AM. I still feel sick, so no go.
    B: corn tortilla, 3 slices chicken, refried beans, cheddar tortilla, 1/4 avocado, an orange, coffee
    L: salad with fresh romaine from the neighbor's garden, chicken, chick peas, green beans, grape tomatoes, whole wheat cous cous, vinegar, a few blueberries
    S: 6 inch whole wheat pita and pumpkin seed spread
    D: home made guacamole, with a burrito on a whole wheat tortilla, black/kidney beans, chili powder, green onion, tomatoes, salsa, half a mango. 2 squares dark chocolate
    I'd better feel better tomorrow. Have a trip to the Berkshires on Friday-Sunday, supposed to do a 40 mile ride with a 7 mile climb . Of course, it's probably going to rain, so it's a moot point. But, I feel suspiciously like I did in February, when I had bronchitis. Going to bed now!

    B: 1 piece of wg toast with butter, coffee, strawberries
    Snack: 1 leftover grilled chicken thigh
    Tennis
    Lunch: 1/2 pork chop, butter beans
    1 beer
    Dinner: fajitas, grilled sirloin, sauteed onions and red and yellow peppers, guacamole, corn tortilla, pinto beans

    Today:
    B: 1 piece wg toast, butter, coffee
    1 banana
    L: chicken, veges and a little rice
    Snack: 1 piece chocolate with nuts
    Snack: 1 small piece of really good gouda cheese
    Dinner: Spagetti and tomato meat sauce, 1 piece Garlic bread, 1 glass red wine

    It was broccoli "slaw" from Trader Joes. The chorizo was ground and from a local farmer - made from pastured pork. Quite spicy and yummy! I needed to mix it up and it worked pretty well.

    Dinner tonight was brisket sauteed with cabbage, onion and little slices of apple. Strawberries and a couple squares of dark chocolate for dessert.
