I don't doubt that is true but at least for me with the same helmet I find that the front part digs into my head a bit in longer rides and a tiny bit more padding prevents that from happening. I'm sure with helmet adjustments everyone is completely different because of different in head shape and helmet shape.
[EDIT] I just pulled my helmet out to show DBF what I was talking about and he pointed out that the circle of velcro in the front of the helmet creates a small bump in the padding which causes that discomfort. If the padding maybe had some give for that velcro bump such that the surface was level I'm confident that it wouldn't be an issue. I wonder if this is what is bothering you? [/EDIT]
