I just ordered a "Bike-Eye" mirror from Britain. I will let you know what I think after it arrives. Supposedly I have to sign for it when it is shipped which I don't like since we both work. But hopefully it will come while my son is home! It is a little pricey at $35. But then again what is my safety worth. Helmet and glass mounted don't work for me because I need glasses for near things. I have bar end shifters and so that doesn't work, And I couldn't locate a source for the "Ultra-Lite" here in Canada either. So I decided to try the Bike-Eye.

Well my "Bike-Eye" arrived (by mail so no signature required), and I would rate it about a 6 out of 10. It of course depends on the bike but on my Surly, it is just OK. You have to move your leg out of the way to see it and part of my bike bag shows up in the mirror and it is not a huge bag. Just an under seat bag but it is enough to block a part of the mirror. So I have to move a certain way to see everything behind me. On the plus side, it does not vibrate when attached to the frame, it shows a fair amount of what is behind me (when I maneuver into position) and I think I can used to it so it is not wasted money. So until someone invents the wheel (or in this case mirror), it will do.

I ended up with the cycle aware roadie mirror. I've been fairly happy with it. The only downside so far is my knee tends to knock it out of alignment if I'm not careful.

I am a huge fan of Mirrycle mirrors! I recently bought both their road mirror (fits on STI brifters 2009 and earlier) and mountain mirror. Never have I used such a stable, clear, high-quality mirror. In the past I've used both Take-a-Look (glasses-mounted) mirror and the ultra-lightweight German mirror, but neither come close to Mirrycle. They really are a miracle!
