I'm having quite an eating weekend. I've had more food than I haven't eaten in ages.
B: corn tortilla, with low fat jack cheese and veg. refried beans, salsa sauteed in olive oil, bowl of strawberries and oranges, glass of almond milk, coffee
L: chicken salad on a spelt roll with sliced tomato, blueberries
30 mile fast ride with other AMC leaders. I went with the "big boys." This would not be fast for a few of you, but for me, I was working hard.
D: At the following party for leaders I had 3 little stuffed appetizer things with veggies, potato, 2 beers and a smaller helping of rigatoni and marinara, salad with vinaigrette, little piece of bread, smallish slice of apple pie.
I don't feel stuffed, just that I ate more carbs than I've had in the past 4 months!

I've a conference for the next 5 days and frankly I am concerned over the food. I am sure that I can find meat and veggies, and can ignore grains, it is the oils/hidden ingredients that I am trying not to stress over. I will do my best, spend some time in the hotel fitness center, and try not to stress too much. I just know how bad I feel when I eat things I know I shouldn't eat...and I won't be more specific than that 5 days is also a long conference!

Don't stress about it, Catrin. Just get back to what you normally do when the conference is over and do the best you can while there. Otherwise, this stuff becomes obsessive.
Even though I'm not following Paleo anymore, last night, after my carb fest, I realized how guilty I felt about eating pasta. This is not good. I realize I still eat very healthily compared to the general population and now I just need to chill.

Re: What did you eat today?

It is more about the physical consequences of eating things my body is sensitive to. I know what I can get away with in moderation, but grains & pseudo grains aren't one of those. At least that is obvious enough that I can avoid them  Looking forward to the conference!

Ok, I need some accountability here:

    Yesterday:
Started the day out in the hotel fitness center - not what I am accustomed to but I did a little time on the treadmill and tossed a few weights around.

B: omelet with meat and veggies, a small amount of potatoes, tiny chicken feta sausage, cappochino (well, 3 of them - but they were small!! and no sugar...
L: angus beef wrap sans wrap, coleslaw, salad with balsamic dressing
D: salmon, some kind of veggies (have no idea what they were), a few fish roe was served with the dish. Ignored the couscous on the plate Went to a VERY nice restaurant with a couple of co-workers. Very expensive salmon, but not NEAR as expensive as the 5-course Morel meal they tried to sell us. I will go somehwere else tonight.

The conference snacks and breakfast they provide are pure sugar...so ignoring those.

    Today:
Started out at fitness center this morning and got a better workout in.
    B: see above...snagged a banana for a mid-morning snack.

    Good conference by the way

It sounds perfectly fine to me. As long as you feel ok, don't obsess!
And why do they only have sugary snacks? Maybe you can request some fruit.

Yeah, my stomach isn't doing so well....but I've been drinking a LOT of coffee - much more than normal so I blame it on that. I've wound up spending all of my time technical troubleshooting long distance (remote connections) and conferring with some of the specialists at the conference rather than really attending sessions. It is neccessary, and the specialists wouldn't have been available if I weren't here so it is good that I am.

I don't need to eat so much anyway since my activity level isn't normal - reporting here keeps me from diving into the chocolate desserts that my caffeine infused brain REALLLLY wants. I did succomb to tasting a bite earlier but it was so sweet I could hardly swallow it - so that helps. I love chocolate, but there are better ways to get it.

Coffee does that to me, too.

Re: What did you eat today?

I LOVE good strong coffee, but it must be good.

L: chicken kabob, 1 pork rib, salad
    brocolli, more coffee
    s: small cafe mocha
D: A bunch of us went back to the same place for dinner tonight. Oak lettuce salad with a few pecans and blue cheese. 1 glass Cabernet. I chose a beef trio appetiser for my main course that had a roasted marrow bone, a small amount of steak tartare, 2 oxtail tortellini and one small scoop of mocha ice cream made inhouse for dessert.

In the end not THAT much food, but it was good to a good time was had by all!

B: 2 eggs, scrambled, oranges and strawberries, slice of Ezekial whole wheat toast with almond butter, coffee
I went on a 38.5 mile ride with 2250 ft. of climbing, at a pace that was fast for me. I drank 1.5 bottles of Nuun and ate a Lara Bar. I was seriously depleted when I finished and figured out I didn't pre-hydrate enough or drink enough at the very beginning of the ride. I tend to not feel feel hungry when I ride, just tired, which is my hint to eat.
Drank the rest 1/2 of my bottle on the car ride home
L: low salt ham and cheddar sandwich on a spelt roll with Dijon mustard, cole slaw
D:glass of red wine, tofu, pan seared with asparagus, mushrooms, green onions and soba noodles, with a miso sauce, 2 squares dark chocolate
