    Cargo bikes

I saw an interesting group ride starting out today -- the Cargo Bike Collective was meeting in Brooklyn for a group ride on a snowy day. Their purpose is to promote use of cargo bikes -- which could come in very handy in NYC.

The Bullitt Bikes looked really nice. I didn't ride one but would like to.

We have lot of those out here in Portland. Love'em. AKA Dutch cargo bikes. There are different kinds too with extended rear built to carry lots of stuff in the back. I think you can fit 4 panniers in the back along with a "deck" to carry more things. Could do a weeks worth of grocery shopping in one of those.

Search dutch cargo bikes... Some are stylin' like this one http://www.treehugger.com/bikes/dutc...to-canada.html
