Probably also because you can rotate at the hip, not just at the knee.
+1 on repositioning your cleat. Whenever I get new shoes or even replace a cleat, I keep the installation tool accessible for my first few rides to make tweaks. Let the LBS do it for you this time, but watch how they do it so you can make small changes if you want to.
