17.3 miles today. Around 50 degrees, not too much breeze. It was lovely.

    Love the photos, goldfinch!

DH and I did a 16-mile ride on our beach cruisers to the south end of Ambergris Caye this morning. Temp around 70-72 (chilly for here!), mixed sun and clouds, a bit of breeze but nothing like the howling winds we were fighting a few days ago. Only negative is the bumpy roads that really wear you out -- we were ready to get off the bikes when we got home!

DH and I did about 10 miles of singletrack with friends today. It was cold (28 at the end of the ride), but it was a great ride. I wore my Gore Phantom jacket, Amfib windproof tights, and winter gloves and boots, and was perfectly dressed. I'm not sure what I'm going to wear when it gets colder. The best part is that I rode my new mountain bike today! It performed great. I need to make some small adjustments to the cockpit, but overall, I'm very happy.

The brutal cold snap is over- days back in the 70's! I rode 19 miles after work on Friday, about 32 on Saturday, including a skills clinic with the owner of a local bike shop that is working with our team, 46 miles on Sunday, including a climb a little way up Mt. Lemmon and the Ride On Tucson event and today I rode to work to grade papers but I took the long route- and ended up with 35 miles round trip instead of 20. This is the perfect time to ride in the desert! No waking up at the crack of dawn and sweating- just beautiful!

I got to go down to South Florida and ride with Pedal Wrench through the Everglades! It was fantastic!

Training for 2 person RAAM is tough, BUT, sometimes it is really great. Like drinking Key Lime Milkshakes in the sun with great friends during a 100 mile ride...

Unfortunately, the weather is going to be cold in atlanta this weekend. No milkshakes for my rides this weekend!
Slow and steady (like a train!)
