I was just about to try to sell you on the iron distance race that we put on locally, but our swim cutoff is 2.5 hours. I noticed M-dot races are 2:20. That doesn't give you much more time.

Does anyone know of any Ironman races that does not have cut off times for the individual events?
I tried an Ironman a few years ago, but I am a very slow swimmer and did not make it out of the water in time. I would still like to do the Ironman distance, but do not want to risk the expenses again only to have the same problem. I am sure I can finish in the race in the 17 hours as long as I didn't have to worry about the swim.
I have done 1/2 Ironman without the cut off time and have heard of full Ironmans, but cannot find them any.
