So sorry- hope you heal quickly and venting here is good for the soul (: Those who are not addicted to biking (running, swimming etc...) don't understand.....

Oh, what a shame. I'm so sorry. I hope you heal quickly and fully.

Oh, that stinks. Heal up quick and come back strong.
And try a different combination of pain meds - ask for a different script if you've got prescription meds.

That really is rotten luck, I'm so sorry. You are still part of that team, you've earned it, so try to celebrate their ride even as you mourn the loss of your opportunity (and it is a kind of mourning). Then find another ride to to plan for as soon as possible!

Oh, that is just a bummer!
Each day is a gift, that's why it is called the present.
Thanks guys. I'll get over it, though I forgot how impossible trying to get anything done on crutches is. Oh well. Thanks for helping me remember the good part, muirenn.

Oh no! I am so sorry. You went into biking with all you had and have made impressive gains. And, after all, you did raise $1500!
Take care and take the pain pills before the pain gets the better of you.

I am sorry too! Many people on this forum have used knee walkers while dealing with foot/ankle injuries. I had to rent mine out of pocket for a month ($100), but I think some had some success with insurance coverage. Anyway, it was totally worth the $100 to have free hands, and I was getting carpal tunnel from using the crutches.

I too, used a knee walker and rented. Even better was my Gilles Berthoud front bag fit on the walker so I could put stuff in it.
Good luck, hope rehab can start soon

THAT TOTALLY SUCKS!!!!!!!
I feel your pain. The only thing I can say that might possibly ease the pain a teensy bit is knowing that there are SO many rides for you in the future. This is only a season, and while it sucks in a big way, it is only a season. Before you know it you'll be back on the bike preparing for and actually participating in an event. And then another one, and another one. This will be a distant memory.
I've been in a really, really long season of very little bike riding due to health. After more than a year and a half, I'm just now starting to do rides that make me feel like a "real cyclist". Only I'm nowhere near where I used to be in fitness, speed and distance. But I'm enjoying the journey back and hoping to be ultimately be stronger than before. My season has been miserably long. Yours will not. But because of what I've been through, I can truly feel your pain.
IT WILL GET BETTER!!!
