Good decision, just get moving. The good thing about hills is that the more you ride them, the easier they get.

Had my first 5 mile ride today. It was so much fun. I remember why I loved this bike in the first place. I find that because I am more comfortable and secure, I ride more agressively and have much more confidence and fun.
While I am not keen on carrying it up the stairs into our house, which is exactly why I couldn't keep this bike in my former walk up apartment, we move to our new home in the next few weeks and this will become a completely moot issue as there are no stairs to contend with and a garage for storage.
I like the color of this model much better anyway. The former was a cornflower blue. This is more of a standard blue. Quite lovely. And I knew I wanted fenders and a rack so got that on right away. I found my happy place today.
MTA: need to put on my Brooks but will attach a pick as bike is now

Got my Brooks on the bike (needed a little extra muscle from my fiance to do so) and my MKS Lambda pedals on order. Once those are on I will be totally good to go. Now I gotta find the time to get another ride in. Getting ready to move in a week, planning a wedding for late March, and time seems to be slipping away from me!

It sold on eBay late last week. Hopefully it was delivered to its new home today. The person had lots of questions about it so I think it went to someone who really wanted the right bike for them.

I have PF and big heel spurs on both feet. Lots of runner's stretches help a lot and a pair of custom (read: expensive) orthotics and it is much better. I ride and average of 15 miles per ride on a pretty regular basis. I have found that keeping a frozen water bottle and then running the sole of your foot back and forth after rides or anytime the PF is bothering you helps quite a bit. My orthopedic said riding a bike was not going to hinder my PF healing. Just keep riding and keep stretching and eventually the PF will get better, mine took about a year and a half to get better. The PF flares up sometimes, but the water bottle trick helps.
I have the prescribed expensive orthotics. I really need to buckle down on the stretching. I hate stretching and seem to avoid it. My podiatrist said that if I don't stretch I have little chance of healing. Ugh. I have had this for over a year now, so I am beyond frustrated and tired with the whole thing. I really miss running. Heck, I miss walking or standing comfortably. I have been moving into a new house the last few days and the level of pain is really crazy bad. But, I got my bike and my trainer moved so if I can't get outside I can get set up to do something pretty easily. And those stretches....I really need to do them.
