New cassette, new chain, new brake pads and new cables. Derailleurs seem to be working just fine for now, thankfully!

Hey Indy if you have time and if the weather permits. I am going to Ft. Ben with a few ladies from the Mountain Bike meetup group and maybe a few guys from the HMBA website next Sunday Nov 11 around 2:00 p.m. But time could change depending on the weather. If the weather holds up I believe it would be a great opportunity for you to ride again before the real cold kicks in. It looks like its going to be in between the mid 50 and lower 60's.

Thanks for the invite. I've never ridden there. What are the trails like? Can my husband come, too?

This will be my first time there as well ..so I can't give any real feedback . But there will be people that already know the trails. I checked out a few videos on you tube and they look ok not too technical. I believe they have 3 trails Beginners Interm and Advance. @1:45 is the meeting time ..wheels down at 2:00. I think we will be gathering at the begginers trail. And yes...you can bring your husband. let me know if you decide to go.

They are beautiful trails. The original (advanced) trail has some very difficult portions with very sharp, steep/almost sheer exposures with a narrow trail. I don't even like to walk those portions without a bike. It is nice that it is now possible to ride from the Camp Glenn beginners loop, through the intermediate trail to the advanced trail. That only became possible this year - last year you had to drive your bike between the beginners and advanced trails as the intermediate loop/connector was still under construction.

Have fun and I look forward to hearing how things go!

    I enjoyed reading your adventure
It reminded me of my National Championship Marathon when I tried to fix a flat tire by air cartridge. Not successfully, of course

Skills class on 11/10 and today we went out and practiced those new skills. Nice, easy trail.

On Saturday, DH and I took a road trip with some teammates to Patapsco State Park and Rockburn Bike Skills Park near Baltimore, MD. We had a great time! Patapsco is considerably more technical than my local trails, so I walked a number of sections, but it also challenged me to ride stuff that I wouldn't normally try.

I'm looking forward to going back sometime soon.

We held our annual 'Turkey Trot' on Saturday and had a great time. The original route was above the snow line this year, so we opted to change it a bit which included a bit more techincal terrain and some dirt roads, but a great group showed up and it was a blast!

Went Yesterday to Ft Ben trails...had a blast with a few good people. We did the 3 trails...9 miles total I believe. Lots of long climbs, obstacles and garden rocks etc. Even though I wasn't feeling good at times I had a ball and didn't crashed once and I am surprised about that!!. Definitely will be returning soon. Everyone said that this trail is kind of like a mini Brown County.

We went to a local park today and did 8 miles in 70-degree temps(!). The last time I was there was ~2008 and I had a horrible time, so today's fantastic ride was especially satisfying. I've gotten a lot better at logovers, rocks, and descents since then. It just feels good.

Worked half day today and decided to go out to the trails as soon as I got out from work. Went for a quick 4-5 mile ride.

I don't get out on my mtb very much, but I did go today with a local hike-n-bike group. We went out to the 18 Road Trails in Fruita, CO. I hadn't been out there in a year or so. I wanted to do the slow easy trails. I'm not a very good mtn biker. I rode with a couple other people and did Vegetarian and Down Uppity. I got a flat (goatheads). Then we rode up the rest of 18 Rd and came down the Kessel Run, that was pretty fun! Now I'm pretty tired, even though I didn't feel like I rode a lot.
