ahh, I'm in the market to buy one but am in Canada! With shipping and duties it would probably cost the same as getting a new one...

I have a Kurt Kinetic fluid trainer that is collecting dust since we've picked up a spin bike for the house. Asking $150 (including riser) and would prefer local delivery/pickup (Summit County, CO, but I travel to the Front Range quite a bit).

2011 Specialized Ruby Comp, Specialized BG Lithia w/ hollow Cr-Mo rails
2009 Specialized Myka FSR, Specialized Windie 143
That's an awesome deal! Hopefully someone will snap it up quickly!!
Most days in life don't stand out, But life's about those days that will...
Soooo tempting. I have a perfectly OK Cyleops but have wanted to try the Kurt. Live way south of you (Westcliffe/Custer County) but also get to Denver/Front Range regularly. If you don't sell it in the next week be in touch, I'll be headed to Springs/Denver the weekend after next...
Sit bones = ~135 mm, saddles that work ~ 155cm/6.1 in wide
2003 da Vinci (custom road/all-rounder)/Terry Butterfly Ti
1994 Gary Fisher Nirvana (vintage MTB/commuter)/Terry Butterfly Chromoly
1991 Terry Symmetry (NOS frame/fork, project in progress)
1973 Raleigh Super Course (project in progress)
This is a really good deal! I purchased one last season and it serves the purpose well.
I love the trainer (well, probably as much as you can love any trainer). This has become a real estate issue for us - we either store 2 bikes (1 44cm, 1 62 cm) and the trainer in a small house, or 1 spin bike that adjusts to fit both of us.
Vinyl..what kind of spin bike do you have? I'm thinking a trainer is more practical, but if I'm spending the money, would a good spin bike be a better workout?

We ended up with a CycleOps Indoor Cycle - it has a freewheel hub (most spin bikes do not) which should be easier on bad knees. I'm not sure if a spin bike would really be a better workout... that part is usually up to the user! I think it's really a matter of personal preference. A spin bike might offer a few more hand positions, and is a better clothes hanger because there is no exposed grease!
I'm really interested but got two things working against me:
1. I live in Atlanta so it would have to be shipped
2. I'm a social worker who just went back to grad school= I'm broke. If you could lower the price, I'd grab it but I can't do $150.
Let me know if you're willing to work something out! I could do paypal!
The UPS ground shipping estimate I got this morning is about $40 (it's a 30+ lb package), and I'm not sure I can justify dropping the price enough to accommodate that, sorry.
Hey Vinyl,
Will you do $160 shipped? If so, I'd make this my Christmas present![]()

Just wanted to put in a plug for this trainer... I have one and I'm a big fan. Super solid, stable and smooth.
Do you guys use a trainer tire? Does it wear down your back tire if you don't?
I don't have a special tire that was designed for trainer use, but when I put one of the niches on the trainer for the winter, I switch out the regular rear tire with a tire from one of a few sets we didn't love on the road, either for durability, rolling smoothness or aesthetic reasons.
