I did the GAP from McKeesport, PA to Cumberland, MD and the C&O from Cumberland, MD to Harper's Ferry, WV. Unfortunately, I was not able to finish the last 40 miles from Harper's Ferry to Great Falls, MD. I've done the 15 miles from Georgetown, DC to Great Falls before. Kathy, I really would like to do a ride on the towpath but it looks like this weekend is not good for me after all. Maybe we could do it next weekend, if the weather looks good?

That's fine with me. It might be best to wait out the recovery from Sandy just in case some trees decide to fall due to wet ground.

Shame I dont' check in here more often... I rode the newly opened section of the C&O (for the second time) on the 11th. They did a damned fine job of rebuilding and it's gorgeous up thataways.
