    FS: 2011 Bike Friday NWT

    To disable ads, please log-in.

I am selling my like new Bike Friday New World Tourist. I am in the process of buying a house and need the money. Plus, now that I do not live in small walk-up apt, I do not need a folding bike.

    Basic info:
    --Small Size
    --Cream Soda Blue
    --Shimano 8-Speed Nexus Internal Hub
    --Click Shift
    --Flat Handlebars
    --Folding Stem (added Option) Included
--Less than 10 miles of ride (seriously - I was injured much of this year so the bike got basically no use)
--Will include a rack and fenders (not installed currently)

Please note saddle and pedals not included, but will consider including pedals if that will help the sale.

Would like $1300 shipping included in US. Our LBS is only open Thursday-Saturday this time of year, so that would be the only time I would be able to get this boxed up, and yes, this would be boxed professionally for shipping by my LBS. The easiest way to get me is by email: klemaster24@gmail.com. I would be happy to send more up close photos, etc.

You might want to try posting it on Bike Friday's website. That's where most people who are looking for a Bike Friday will look. It's a nice little bike.

Wildrover, I am 5'1" and it fits me and I have the seat low. There is room to raise the seat for sure. It is a size small.

Tulip, I posted to the BF website, but no word yet. May need to do a bump or include more pics or something. Thank you for the info though because I may not have know about that resource.

Ebay or Craigslist may be your next option if the others don't work out. I lovvvvvve my Bike Friday. We took them on our trip from NC to Ohio this summer, and it was great as we had a small rental car (Ford Focus), so we folded them and put them in the soft bags. This way we could get them both into the trunk without needing a rack, and no one knows they're in there either, so we didn't have to worry about theft. Easy peasy to unfold 'em and ride when we got to our various destinations.

    Great traveling bikes!

It is now posted on eBay. No bids yet, but have a bid option and buy it now option, so I would guess something will happen close to the end of the auction time as that is how it often goes on eBay.

Patience is your friend. It often takes a while to sell Bike Fridays because they require a certain type of person who is familiar with them to pay real money on a funny looking bike. Also, a big chunk of the country has other things to deal with at the moment...but a Bike Friday sure would be a great thing to have in NYC right now! So if you don't sell it right away, don't give up. (I already have one).

That is my feeling exactly. No big deal either way. If it is meant to be it will be, in the time it is meant to happen.

How involved is it to fold and unfold? We keep talking about a couple of folders to throw in the back of the car for trips into town.

Bike Fridays are very easy to do the Quick Fold. Packing for travel is a bit more involved. I'm pretty sure you can find YouTube videos demonstrating the quick fold.

I concur with tulip. We took our Bike Fridays from NC to Ohio this summer to visit my DH's parents and do some cycling. We folded and unfolded them several times to put them into and take them out of the soft cases. Easy-peasy. 5 minutes max. Packing them back into the suitcases for storage was a lot more involved, maybe 20 minutes each. My only complaint is that Bike Friday should make the soft cases just a little larger...even with my XS petite Pocket Crusoe, they are almost impossible to zip up. I am sure just a tiny bit more slack wouldn't add much to the cost. They may have changed them since we got them in 2004, though.

It would be good to mention in your listing that your New World Tourist is NOT affected by the stem breaking problems of the BF 16" Tikits. (alas, poor us!)
Each day is a gift, that's why it is called the present.
