    Torch helmet

If this was posted before, my apologies. I am considering the following helmet for my pre-dawn weekday rides:

I think the lights in the helmet would be a nice addition to my collection of lights. I wanted to link it in the forum as it might be nice for anyone riding in the dark.

I like the lighting part, but there doesn't seem to be much in the way of ventilation. Of course that might not be an issue depending since this isn't something you would wear in the heat of the day.

Indeed, but the weather when I start riding in the dark is also much cooler, so I also thought less vents was a good thing for my purposes. In the summer, dawn is much earlier, so I am not concerned about lights.

    Ooo, nice!
I'd prefer ventilation too, so you could wear the helmet during the day. I mean, I wouldn't want to bring an extra helmet everywhere I go in case I end up biking home in the dark unexpectedly.

I also prefer a little bit cheaper price tag on a helmet. I'm all for spending money to protect my head, but honestly I have never used a helmet. I've never had a crash that involved my head. (I've hardly had any crashes.) But I have to replace my helmet every 2-3 years, because I wear it all the time, maybe my sweat is toxic but the styrofoam does age a little quicker when you wear that thing so much. So I'm not super interested in paying more than $50 or so for a helmet every couple years.

(Disclaimer: I did pay more this year. I got the helmet hat. But next time I can replace just the helmet, and keep wearing the hat.)

I started out commuting with lights on my helmet, and quickly abandoned them due to the unwelcome fact that every bug within a mile seemed to be attracted to my face. It wasn't so bad when riding, but at stop lights.........horrid.
