    System: Windows XP Pro

Browser = Google Chrome ...because I never liked IE (too slow and too much screen space eaten up by the browser itself) and Firefox has become slow (started using it when it first came out and abandoned it over a year ago).

Firewall = Windows XP Pro firewall ...because it is simple (but not necessarily optimal)

Anti-virus = Avast (free, effective) ...I Used to have AVG (also free) but abandoned it because I felt it was slowing the system down too much.

Firefox (have not had any trouble with it) and both Avast and Malware - we've gone through the experience of "losing" a computer to a virus attack - we were using icky Norton back then - and would prefer not to have a repeat!

I use most of them because I'm learning Javascript. Saying "no scripts" might mean a lot doesn't work... I really liked that Chrome just pulled in my bookmarks for me, tho' I *want* a search window to click into ont he right side of the screen. I just do :P

When I have my first amazing math exercises in JavaScript I'll share 'em here -- don't everybody jump at once !

I use Chrome for personal stuff but IE for all work-related things. Too many of our work systems don't play well with Chrome.

For security at home, we use McAfee...but I have no choice in the matter since my husband works for them and he sets up our home network. If something doesn't work, I just complain to my own personal IT guy. I pay him in sexual favors. OK, not really.

Actually, I'm sure he wishes I paid him in sexual favors! We'd be constantly having 'internet' problems and I'd never be able to get anything done around the place!

How do you think I keep getting new bikes?!

I use Safari most of the time, but I'm a Mac gal. Sometimes I run into things that don't display right and I do some beta testing for a friend's running log site, so then I might try different things in Chrome and FF, but probably 90+% of the time I use Safari.
