OT: Move back to upstate NY?

Well, lets see if I can make this short. I got married in '96 and my husband and I moved out to Colorado to explore what life had to offer us. We have spent 10 great years skiing, climbing, backpacking and of course bicycling. Both of us are starting to think about moving back, infact my DH had even sent some resumes out which makes us a little nervous. We don't want to regret moving but we also haven't been doing as much up in the mountins as we used to do. We are tying to figure out it is the right decision. Colorado is a beautiful state with awesome weather, however all of our family is back in NY and we miss the water. But then we would have to contend with the NY winters and lack of sun. But then again it would be nice to get away from the intense summer sun out here. As you can see I have mulitple arguements either way. I have to wait for DH to find a job before I look as he would have a harder time finding one, so I will get a job in the area based on where he finds one. Well just thought I would talk/write my thoughts to you as no one here in CO knows of our plans yet. Kind of stressful. Yikes

Colorado is great, but upstate NY has so much outdoors stuff to offer as well! Good luck, whatever you decide!

Yeah, come to the right coast. Besides there is a whole new forum to join in the Northeast.
I'm convinced we appreciate spring more because we endure the winters and NY is beautiful.

I totally agree with you with appreciating the spring. The funny thing is out here in Colorado I always hear the Canadian Geese, at first when we moved out it was confusing as back home in NY it was a sign of either fall or spring. Miss that, along with the trees, Colorado is a very dry state, beautiful but dry. Thanks for the comments. My DH has 3 job possiblities. Cool!
