Saving for the next one...
In a separate little building that is really a gardening shed, except that it matches my house. I guess the person that built this house was into gardening, but the first thing we said we said when we saw the house was, "Oh look, a little house for our bikes!" Right now, there's just 4 in there, but at one time there were 7 or 8. In the dead of winter, my Kuota comes into the house and goes up in our loft, on the trainer. If it's nice enough to ride outside, I ride my Guru, with wider tires.

this is a timely thread- we were just lamenting the fact that we have a two car garage we can only get one small car in! All 4 kids are also into biking (mountain, downhill, BMX and road!!!!!) It is a bit ridiculous (: in a good way (:
One in the mudroom/entranceway. A couple in the garage. There are 3 bikes in one of the sheds out back and I keep one in a utility room at work. (If I leave work on my lunch hour, there is never a parking spot when I get back so tend to ride if I go out!) Not even sure where my new bike will go when it arrives. It will probably mean getting rid of something to make room!
6 are on a custom built bike rack in our dining room. One is against the wall in the dining room. One is on the trainer. Two are in suitcases under the bed (Bike Fridays). One is in the barn in our backyard (rarely ridden). We couldn't find something that would store most of our bikes in the space we had, so DH and a friend built something. We're currently renting, and it 1) doesn't require drilling into the wall and 2) can be disassembled and moved.
Most days in life don't stand out, But life's about those days that will...
Mine hang from my garage ceiling using an inexpensive and easy-to-use pully system we purchased. It keeps me (yes, me) from accidentally pulling in too far and hitting my bikes (yeah, it's happened), and saves tons of space.

Yep! In teal! Should be in this week!
That was the whole reason I asked. I'm thinking . . . gorgeous new bike - should I really put it in the garage? Well, I at least want a place to put it if I can't keep it in the house - you know, if we have friends or family over.Back on topic.
I put my bikes in my bike room. It used to be the master bedroom, once-upon-a-time.
But now I must have a little house just for my bikes! Well, wouldn't even put the newest bike there.
I have 7 bikes. My bf has 7 bikes.
Sooo....
We have a large apt with 2 living rooms. The front living room is really a terrible living room. It's cold in the winter and hot in the summer in there. I don't know what we would do with it if we didn't have 12 bikes to store in there: road bikes and commuter bikes. We also have a walk out basement that the boy has made into his own personal bike shop (with a shop quality repair stand - gear swap score). 2 mtn bikes are stored in a room off the bike shop.

The utility bikes (commuting bike, touring bike) are hanging in the garage for quick access, the road bikes are inside. The old road bike has a more or less permanent position on the home trainer.

Murienn, are you making fun of my garden shed turned into a bike house? I didn't design this house, but it's a good thing we have this option, as the lower level of my house is living space, not a real basement. There are storage closets down there, but much more of a pain to take the bikes out from there. Our garage is not attached, is 30 years old and is not tall enough for DH's car to get into (yes, he has the evil SUV everyone here makes fun of). So, my car is in there, along with various things like the huge snowblower, ladders, leaf blowers, and my ever growing collection of therapy toys.

Garage now that we have a house, but when we were in a condo two bikes hung over the tub in the extra bathroom.
Each day is a gift, that's why it is called the present.
I learned the hard way not to leave mine in the kitchen, leaning up against the wall, where it could be seen from the back door. Went away for a long weekend last November and came home to a kicked in back door and a missing bike. My new bike (no thanks to my insurance deductible) stays in the house, not the garage, but not where anyone can peer in and see it. When I go out of town without it, I lock it to my iron staircase and remember to set my alarm system. I'm gonna make the #*()@&()@'s work for it next time.
