I had planned on riding the 50 miles from my house to Rye Harbor State Park to join the extended family for our annual family picnic, but I over slept. So, instead I did a fast hour ride down into Pepperell MA, then up into Hollis NH (climbing the hill that goes past the Kimball Farm stand with the great view of Mt. Monadnock which Crankin would recognize) through Hollis and then back home. It's a good thing I did a ride because, boy, was the food good at our picnic!

It was a beautiful weekend here, though the temp and dew point started climbing yesterday. I got in a couple of shorter, leisurely rides, mostly on bike trails: 20 miles Sunday and 23 yesterday. Looking forward to the St. Paul Bike Classic next weekend.

After a week in Alaska, where the first days were amazingly beautiful..which was perfect since I was spreading my dad and my brother's ashes on Mt. Susitna (aka Sleeping Lady), I got home and found the weather was great and I still was sad so I went out for a shortish ride and felt much better.
