I am glad to hear that other people have such huge weight fluctuations. I seem to 'gain' and 'lose' the same 4 pounds every week - sometimes 5 or 6! Yesterday I was 2.5 pounds heavier than I was this morning. I can really feel it in my clothes and how my body feels, too. So frustrating!

I can predict it sometimes, like sushi = 2 lbs up, even if I drink a TON of water with it. Food salt seems to cause a weight spike, but a huge workout doesn't, so I must hydrate well enough when I ride, but who knows? So weird.

Sushi definitely has that effect on my weight. I don't eat it much anymore because I'm very wary of grocery store sushi, and the only real sushi restaurants require a special trip because they are on the other side of town. I do like some good sushi, however.

My weight typically fluctuates by a pound or two at most during the week; it's pretty consistent since I bought a new digital scale. I've been making steady progress in the downward direction for the last five or six months. Nothing drastic, and slower than I would have liked, but noticeable nonetheless. I'll take it.

    133.2 this morning.

In the first week of my Paleo experiment I lost almost 3 pounds - probably just water loss from not consuming grains. I've regained .5 lb of that but since then my day-to-day weight has been rock solid stable. Exact same weight for 6 days in a row, no large fluctuations the morning after a heavy workout or good ride. I like that change, it was frustrating to see such large swings when I knew it was 99% likely that it was simply water retention. I ascribed it to the exercise though, not my diet. This seems to show that it was diet related. In the 3 years since I started tracking diet and weight I've not seen it be so stable over even the course of one week.

Catrin, I noticed that my weight has been very stable throughout the week since cutting out grains, too. Interesting!

I'm traveling so I'll have to catch up in a few days.

107 today. Still two pounds over where I want to be and still trending up. I can watch it happen, why do I stall doing anything about it?

Carefully counting my too many calories. Going out with friends with dreaded pizza tonight. I'll be over again.

I've been steady at 143 for awhile. And annoyed. There have only been a few days when I really overate. So I guess it's a portion issue. Also I'm having to eat breakfast earlier due to a schedule change at work, which has me eating lunch earlier, but dinner is still later (after gym/bike ride) so I'm probably snacking too much in the early evening.

    Anyway, excuses excuses.
