The chocolate method involves going up the hill ahead of the kid, stopping on top of the hill and calling back down "Shall we stop for chocolate up here?" It works, up to a point. I almost kept on going just to get to the top of Lemondrop hill, but ... 1) the headwinds!, 2) my peleton partner, with lots of ride smarts, called for the wagon - I rode (slowly!) another 10 minutes to stay warm until it arrived, but when they asked me too it was definitely time, and 3) lemon drops are not chocolate.
