I'm going stir crazy here because while I got the verbal offer over the phone, I haven't gotten the formal offer in writing yet. My references need to clear first. So I won't put in my notice until I've gotten my formal offer, and the delay is driving me nuts. HR red tape at its finest!

Been there and totally understand! Just trust that it will all work out.

Dear DH,

Thank you SO much for deciding (at the last minute) that you really do want to to go to your high school reunion as that means an unexpected trip to back to the US (for over 2 weeks!) for us! My mom is going to be surprised and thrilled, and I can't wait to eat all the foods I've been missing, drink WINE (which is way too expensive to buy here), see some beloved friends, and just be "home" for awhile.
