Oh Mimi, I am so incredibly sorry, but am relieved he's no longer suffering, and that he left this world surrounded by those who loved him. Take good care of yourself in these coming days/weeks/months. You're in my thoughts.
Mimi thank you for sharing an update at this most difficult time. I came on here in hopes that Don's bike was found and now completely shocked. My heart goes out to you and your family. {{{{hugs to all of you}}}}

Your description of Don's last hours was beautiful! (Although the bit about him going to med school got me laughing until I was crying again) It's amazing how much people we only know from the internet can come to mean to us. I will always treasure his words on Bikejournal about how he dealt with wanting his life back. They give me strength when everything seems to be too much. He was a blessing to so many.
You are in my prayers.

Thank you for sharing his last hours, it was beautiful and it sounds like he did it his way. From what we have gotten to know of him through you he wouldn't have had it any other way. I hope through his body and his fundraising for the bike many people's lives are enriched. Take care and my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Cancer sucks.
Hugs to you and your family. It sounds like it was a nice send off to a wonderful person. To be surrounded by your family is truly the way to go. My FIL was able to do that with all of his family members and it is still remembered five years later.
Maybe the bike was lifted a few days early so it will be in his new place to ride.
