    Tour de Donut (Utah)

    To disable ads, please log-in.

Just because it's not likely to ever happen again, I have to say that I am very proud of myself for my Tour de Donut showing on Saturday. Three laps of a 7 mile course, eating as many donuts as possible between laps 1 & 2 and 2 & 3. Not only did I eat NINE! donuts, I rode fast enough to win first place female in my age group (a big spread, 35-54) AND I also beat all of the men in the same age group. Those guys should know how to eat donuts. I should not be beating them. FWIW, I also had a better time than all of the women in the 16-34 age group. Seriously, these women need to learn to eat donuts!

Probably my only top of the podium finish ever in my life (me in the middle).

You left out the most important detail: what variety of donut? Iced? Sprinkles? Filled? Crullers? Bear Claws? Bavarian Creme?

Congratulations on your excellent finish! Make sure you train up next year so you can eat an even dozen (you were so close!).

Ha, what a great race. I have an image of a donut hanging off of a stick taped to your helmet (like the donkey and the carrot) Good Job, hate to think what the ole tummy felt like though

    Thumbs up

Congratulations yellow -- that's an accomplishment!

I couldn't help but notice that you were the skinniest gal on your podium. Skinny gals always seem to win the female competitive eating competitions (professional) as well -- not sure why. You look great!

I think I could eat 9 donuts, but I'd be slow out there donuts or not.

    Good on ya!

And she's a cradle robber! I just looked at the results. Apparently, Mr. Yellow is only 19. Who knew?

Thanks, ladies. A whole lot of LOL. You just can't take this stuff too seriously. Eat lots, ride hard.

Strangely, I never really felt horrible. A little uh, full after the 2nd round but I never seemed to suffer any ill effects. I wasn't hungry for several hours afterwards, but then I consumed something like 2300 calories during the event.

@Selkie, plain old glazed donuts. Take 2, smash together, eat.

@ Jess, yes, I beat Fatty, but he was on a triple this year (with his wife and daughter).

@Sadiekate, note that if he had been placed in the proper category, he wouldn't have placed as well!

Fatty's remarried? I had no idea. I confess I stopped reading his blog after Susan died. That seems awfully quick, if it's the same Fatty.

Same Fatty. I sort of thought that at first but after reading about all of it they seem pretty perfect for each other. In a totally different way than Susan was.

And I agree, way too skinny for all those donuts!
