Agreed with Marni...diet and hydration is just as important on days leading up to your long ride vs. the day of. Overall, proper diet and hydration are very important when it comes to longer rides especially in heat. I can't see where an Atkins diet would help in providing the proper nutrients given the situation and conditions of the riding.
