    Cinderella #2 Ride - Sunday March 25th 9AM

    To disable ads, please log-in.

I met some other women who didn't ride Cindy today due to weather conditions. We are riding tomorrow- sounds like about 10-15 of us- all different types of riders. If anyone wants to come, I'll post details as soon as she emails me.

We'll be starting out in the same area, just not Camp Parks.

AND, weather conditions look fabulous for tomorrow! Sun, warm, slight NW winds!

OOOOh, count me in. My friend and I bailed this morning when we looked at the weather at 6, and she wasn't feeling well. But I would love to do it with some of you! Meeting my friend now, who has my bike, so I will have it for tomorrow. Will check back in later tonight to see final details.

    See you tomorrow!

    Shannon Park 9:00AM sharp.

Okay - Here are the details- Shannon Park In Dublin.

680 to Alcosta Blvd. Go west on Alcosta Blvd to San Ramon Road. (just off freeway). Turn left on San Ramon Road- Right at Shannon Park into the parking lot.

Check the Valley Spokesman Rides for directions if these aren't clear. Shouldn't be hard to find. I looked in the March rides for these directions!

    See you tomorrow!
Bring your own stuff as this is a NON SUPPORTED ride! There are some places to get water along the way. It will be fun! Weather forecast looks good!!!!

    Hey BG-
you said in the first message there will be many different types of riders... any idea if there are some on the slower side? I tend to average about 13 mph...maybe a little lower on a long ride like this (get to the 20s on the flats, but a big ol' slug on the hills). Will there be people riding at about that level? I don't want to hold everyone else back if I am the slowest one!

    Thanks!

    see ya there!

i expect a good turnout for this ride since it is being advertised on several listserves (well assuming people check their email this morning and can get there by 9am).

It's quite possible there will be "slower" riders, but not a given. Come prepared to have fun! Who knows - maybe you will find someone that will challenge you to ride a little faster, or maybe you can challenge someone who is a little slower than you to push herself to new limits.

Just be careful and bring plenty of food/water for the 63 miles. Also have some ID on you and an emergency contact.
    Cheers!

    Sunday Ride Report

Since I just couldn't get the muster to do the ride on Saturday, I was thrilled to learn that some women were doing the same route Sunday.

What a difference 24 hours makes! We had sun, wind (of course), clouds, and cool temps. BUT at least we didn't have the gales and the rain the Saturday Cinderellas did!

9 of us ended up going out. Two of the husbands provided SAG support. We started north of the route on San Ramon Valley Road near Al Costa and then caught the route further south and followed it from there. We stopped at all of the official rest stops to catch up with each other.

The men met us at the lunch stop with oranges, bananas, cookies, etc. (left over from the day before). That was such a treat. They also met us at the 3rd rest stop where we again could eat what we wanted!

Afterwards, Ellen (Ms Badger), me, Linda (the artist), and Billie (from Los Gatos) had treats at Starbucks. A nice way to end a beautiful ride. Maybe I'll do the Cindy on Sat and the Cindy #2 on Sunday next year. It's so different with less people, yet still rewarding and a pleasure to be with women for a day!

Sounds fun, Nancy. Glad you got to get out there! Sorry I missed ya Saturday morning -- I forgot your cell # info, and then just decided to wait the morning's bad weather out. Worked out ok for me in the afternoon, tho'.

Yeah, Bike Momma- You all were smart to leave later. We looked for others, but didn't see anyone on the route or at the vendor area.

    New bike?????
