Oog, I thought I was the only one maniacal enough to get the 800 and THEN get the 910. Have used the 910 in one race but before I changed to the quick release, so have yet to test that.

When you use the 910 in multisport mode, does it keep all the alerts you currently have in bike and run mode?

Good! Mine currently buzzes at me with my run time per mile. Oddly, I find that motivating.

It also does time per 5 miles on the bike. Stopping for lunch really makes for a slow 5 miles.

I have mine set for auto lap at 1 mile run as well. (with autopause when stopped)

I turned off the autolap on the bike. However, if you want that data to be more useful, you can set it to auto-pause when you aren't moving so that you can see your moving averages. Of course, for a race, you want to turn autopause off, but in training, I find it useful to keep it on.

I didn't tell it to do either. They just did it the first time I used them.

I like that it also buzzes. I have a time alert for the bike to make sure I eat and drink. Cracks Thom up how musical my arm is.

I think the autolap at 1 & 5 are the factory defaults. I don't think autopause is though.

I usually run with music, so I wasn't really aware of how loud the buzz/beeps are when it wants to tell you something. A few weeks ago I stopped using music, knowing that Ironman doesn't allow it (figured I needed the discipline to get used to nothing but the voices in my head). That's when I discovered how loud the "heartrate is too high" alert is. I think the folks around me at my July 4th half marathon heard that one way too often.
