I don't know what the "quick release" is, but I've had no problems with mine in that regard. Have done multiple races with it.

The quick release kit is an additional thing that allows you to theoretically move the device quickly from your bike to your wrist.Funny, both pieces were just delivered so I'll be playing with them this afternoon.

Ya know, I think this came in the box, but I just thought it was an extra strap.
Electronics geek that I am, I have a Garmin 800 on my bike. So, I never take the 910 off my wrist for a tri. The screen on the 800 is ginormous, plus I can program in the routes and see upcoming elevation changes, etc. while I'm riding.
BTW - are you aware that the multisport files do not upload to the garmin website?
Susan - that was an extra strap. The QR is an extra accessory.
I haven't used mine for a race yet (I got it a month before I got injured), but I have used it for all three sports individually. Unfortunately, mine only uploads run or swim workouts to the Garmin website. It won't take the bike workouts and according to Garmin, that's because they are corrupt files. When I asked how ONLY bike files are getting corrupt, they had no answer for me and told me to enter them by hand. Helpful. Not.
And here I thought Garmin's customer service was supposed to be legendary.
Since I'm not training for anything right now, figuring it out is not high on my priority list.

We use Sport Tracks to see our data. I think that extra strap really is just an extra strap.
The QR Kit came in a totally separate box and does look a little cheesy. I loved the QR for the 305. But both of our 305s have become somewhat unreliable - turning themselves off for no reason.
I doubt I can convince Thom (or myself) that I need a Garmin just for the bike. I'm just not riding enough... or running enough... or swimming enough...

Oog, I thought I was the only one maniacal enough to get the 800 and THEN get the 910. Have used the 910 in one race but before I changed to the quick release, so have yet to test that.
"My predominant feeling is one of gratitude. I have loved and been loved;I have been given much and I have given something in return...Above all, I have been a sentient being, a thinking animal, on this beautiful planet, and that in itself has been an enormous privilege and an adventure." O. Sacks
When you use the 910 in multisport mode, does it keep all the alerts you currently have in bike and run mode?
