I look at my RPM's frequently throughout every ride...so yes, I use mine all the time. Helps me determine if/when I need to shift. Sometimes, I just get "lazy" and don't really pay attention to my RPM's. A quick glance down at my cadence, will tell me a LOT in terms of whether or not I need to shift gears or simply pick up the pace and pedal harder.

I use cadence all the time on the road, it helps my shifting and helps me gauge my rpms. Indeed I tend to look at cadence more while riding than I do my speed. For me it helps, your experience might be different.

I love mine & have it set to beep if I go below 70rpms. I think it saves my knees because I'm a consummate pedal masher.
