Are you ladies wearing road ID's

I can't decide on the original Road ID or the Slim Road ID. My wrist are kind of small, so I think the slim might be better, but the original looks like it might be made a little better. I have it narrowed down to either purple or pink.

I have purple for home rides, runs, races & gym activities and yellow for "up at the cottage" rides & runs. Just updated the info tag portions this year as DH cell phone # changed. Wash whatever one I've been using weekly- just use some shampoo when I am in shower. Feel absolutely naked without it.

I've the Slim and it seems fine - I went for the small size since I've small wrists and while I do have to stretch it a bit to get it over my knuckles, it is fine after that point and not too small/tight. It is made from the same material as the Livestrong bracelets.

I think the original Road ID is the velcro version - but I assume you are referring to the Elite version - it is made of a different material than the Slim, or at least that is my understanding. My Slim doesn't seem too thin/narrow for my wrist. The purple is nice, the Slim is my second Road ID in that color. My original was the velcro one and my sensitive skin found it a bit on the rough side - I had to leave it much too loose to avoid irritation.

I did choose the Interactive, and am glad I did.

My hubby and I usually ride together so I used to wear my Road ID and carry my cell phone only when I rode alone. As luck would have it, the only time I was significantly injured was on a mountain bike trail when hubby and I agreed to separate and meet up about 20 minutes later. I fell and broke my ankle just after hubby rode out of earshot. Of course he was carrying the only cell phone between us so I couldn't call him either. I was dependent on helpful strangers to go find him.

Everything turned out fine in the end but I learned my lesson. What if I had sustained a head injury rather than an ankle injury?! Now I wear my Road ID and carry my cell phone on every ride.

The Road ID website has lots of information on what to include, abbreviations for medicals conditions and allergies, stuff like that. (E.g., "NO PCN, SHELLFISH" means allergy to penicillin and shellfish.)

Many people don't need all the lines for info, which is why the last line might be something inspirational.

I have the interactive version which is much simpler, I debated for a long time which version to get but settled on the interactive one. Mine just has my name and birth year, along with how to access my information. I did have a bit more information on my Classic band (the velcro version), but the Slim id has 1 line less available.

I subscribe to Medic Alert, so I had them engrave my name, my chronic condition, the Medic Alert #, and my patient ID.

The Road ID bands are much nicer (IMO) than Medic Alert's own sports bands.
