As for the driving... I was completely spoiled when I lived in Lake Placid... I could ride out my door and across the road onto the Olympic cross country ski trails (which have miles and miles of single track of all kinds of difficulty). I really miss that. What I really need are consistent female biking buddies who will make a morning of it. whenever I bike with my guy friends they always end up waiting up ahead hanging onto a tree while I plug along to catch up
