    Mel,

    Yeah, I hear you on the one pieces...I have a pair of bib cycle shorts and pretty much want use them to tie and gag the person who told me they were "so great" every time I have to strip down to go to the loo. Thanks for the word of caution. Experience is the best teacher, eh?

    So you are in Canada--wouldn't that make the water COLDER than in Oregon? BrRrRr...

    It really depends on whether your tri is an ocean or a lake swim. In Ontario we only have the latter (no ocean here). A nice shallow lake can warm up nicely by mid-summer. This year my first tri is in mid-July in a small (very small) private lake. Should be nice and toasty. The August one will probably be the coldest since it takes place in Lake Ontario but by August it will be so hot here even that mostly shore line swim will be warm enough to remove the need for a wetsuit.
