When I was a kid, we had a Haroldson and a Prairie Spy. So those are my favorites.

Yow> I have just in the past 2 months discovered Pink Lady apples. They are *also* a Down-Under contribution to the Greater Good. Another one. Developed in Oz they are a cross between Lady Williams and Golden Delicious. They were real expensive (and imported from USA) so I bought 2 per week, but just this week locally grown ones from the Golan Heights and the Galilee appeared in our wee shop .
    Way OT!!

I love those Pink Lady apples, too! I'd never heard of them until recently.

I have not heard of "pink ladies" anywhere but this thread... I look forward to seeing them somewhere...

But my faves are "Gala" and "Pacific Rose"

Yeah, I haven't tried 'em either. They're always, like, £2.00 for four apples instead of £1.2something or £1.3something for seven or eight.

Hey, Kiwi, apple season here... just bought a bag of about 20 Braeburns for $2... whats that, about 70-80p?

When you get back to Godzone, get in touch, we must go for a ride somewhere together... I'll bring the apples!
