I wouldn't plan on doing any long riding without carrying some of my own food sources. However, I love discovering little cafe's and restaurants.

I never do fast food. Ever, though if I were bonking and that was the only way to get food then I would. I do enjoy finding little local cafes and restaurants when I can and try to avoid the big chain restaurants. I always take my own bike-food/fuel.

I only have fast-food on cycling trips when there are no other close alternatives.

Sometimes after a long ride 100 km. and especially when I'm wet from rain (which has happened several different trips on various days), I really don't feel like cycling another 4 km. in the rain after dropping off stuff at hotel to go to a restaurant.

There is a value to chain donut shop --at times, in moments of energy desperation.

I avoid fast food at all costs. That's why I make certain to pack food along. If nothing else, there's usually a little convenience store near fast food places where I can pick up some granola bars or trail mix.
