My nephew does them. We were on vacation (on an island with very few paved roads, so cycling is very difficult) and decided to do one of them. Let's just say that this almost-50 old lady outlasted her two 21 and 27-y-old nephews.
That said, I did modify some of the moves to protect my knees. And we were on a sandy surface, so didn't do anything on the ground.
Oh - and WELCOME to TE!
For 3 days, I get to part of a thousand other journeys.
I was wandering your age, LOL. I really was, but only because I *hit* 40 hard. A few years ago, I'd be all over trying something like that. Now, no way, slow and steady for me. (and my torn ligament in my ankle and hairline fracture of the wrist, from 2 different incidences).

Welcome to TE PirateKitty!
I have done P90x, but not Insanity (our PE teacher makes the jr. high kids do it once a week in class, and while they complain, they secretly like it). I was incredibly sore with P90x for the first couple weeks- then it leveled out. Then I gave up because winter was over and it was time to ride and play outside again!
Lately I'm more into www.bodyrock.tv because the workouts are intense, but most importantly...short and to the point. Most are only about 12 minutes (not the 60 I was spending on P90x). The workouts on the website are free and she updates them frequently.
Glad you joined us here!!![]()

Cannondale F5 mountain bike
thanks trigirl! I'll look into those videos and give them a whirl.
Fortunately i don't have to purchase the insanity set since my boyfriend already has it. I guess i'll post back on how it goes along with my cycling routine, although it might not exist until i get used to insanity.![]()

I also did the Bodyrock workouts, now switched to Zuzanas "ZWOW" workouts (she hosted Bodyrock first) on Youtube. They are free and short and I'm incredibly sore after only half an hour of training.
Strangely enough, this doesn't interfere with riding my bike, it seems to train different muscles.
PirateKitty: Are you familiar with videofitness.com? There are a whole bunch of vidiots over there who have done or are doing Insanity. I don't do much impact, so I haven't done Insanity, but it looks to me like a great compliment to cycling. Crosstraining = awesomeness!!!

I am just blind today - it's been quite the week, let me tell you - and thanks for not getting offended. I did read it as some lead-in to selling something, which was my mistake. Thanks to Irulan to calling me on it - and she gave good advice about not over-doing it.
Pedal Wrench, it IS fun outlasting the younger ones, I did that last night in a group training class![]()
