road bike fit 48 vs 50 input?

I thought I would jump in on this as I have the 05 Dolce Comp. I am 5'2 and I ride a 51cm. As mentioned, the best way to know your size is by riding it and see what feel best for you. I feel computers are ok to give the lbs an idea of which size might be ok, you pretty much have to know what feels best. If the top tube and height feel comforable, then then minor adjustments with seat, maybe stem will make the fit more perfect for you.

I had also tried the Allez Comp in a 50, which fit ok, but I felt it was just too much bike for me as the reach was a little more than the Dolce.

Try and test is best.

My LBS measured me for my Dolce and said I was a 49. They had a 48 and 50 in stock and I got the 48. I'm 5'4". My 5'1" twin sister has a 51 Trek 1500 or 2000(I'm not sure which). They both fit me and mine fits her. Hers has 650 wheels and mine has 700. That could be a difference as well.

How do you like it? I have yet to pick mine up; it's ready, I'm just missing a few moldy dollar bills needed to get it!! I will definately have it next Friday, unless I cave in and whip out my Discover!

I have concluded that bikes are like shoes; I can wear anything from a 6.5 average to a 7 wide.
