Buffing nails

I don't wear any rings on my fingers and so briefly did think about buffing. But now, examining the free buff job, it looks less shiny.

My hands are a mess. Between working at the bike shop, DIY living room & porch renovation and making my jewelry, my poor hands don't stand a chance. And, I haven't even started working in my garden yet!

Any artwork stuff involving paints, goo does require extra care. I'm not sure about others here, but when I did oil and some acrylic painting, I used a neutral silicone hand creme lightly on my hands to keep the paints from discolouring my skin. I've had jobs where I would help people one-to-one with learning certain software. they would be looking at my hands and screen nearby.

My hands usually sport a little paint, a few new bruises or scratches from moving furniture, and in gardening season, a healthy dose of crud under the nail and on the right index finger from pulling weeds. I did a lot better at remembering to wear gloves last year though.
I keep my nails short... I don't buff. I'm just kind of low maintenance I guess. I also have really short hair - can't deal with long hair either! I try to dress nice instead, even though I usually live in jeans, I have quite the shoe collection. Jeans + heels or nice flats make jeans less...casual. I have my cake and eat it too! LOL

I can't be bothered either. Nice clothes, jewelry, a little bit of putty in my hair, that's as good as it gets.

I like the way my nails look when they're buffed. I'll do them maybe once a year. Really if I were going to give something more attention, it ought to be my cuticles, which are just terrible.

When I first cut my long hair I had it chin length and it was a HUGE hassle. I had to spend 25 minutes on it every single day, no days off for weekends or holidays because it looked just awful if I left it to its own devices. I had it cut short in '92 or '93 and never looked back. I'm just lazy. Shaving my head would be more work.
