Hello, my name is Barb and I am lusting after yet another bike. Do I need her? Well, no. Is she pretty and needs a good home? Of course! She is very upright and chocolatey brown. I just found a women's schwinn 10 speed with rack and fenders for $50.00! It looks like a great commuter bike. Very clean and vintage...not the stuff they sell at Target today.

What's the problem then? I already have a Giant Sedona set up for commuting/groceries/taking the dog for a run and my Bianchi road bike, oh and a Gary Fisher Marlin hard tail that is stored at my sister's house! So I need this bike like a hole in my head! DH is NOT into bikes and doesn't quite understand my needs. I don't NEED this bike. Heck, I can't even commute to work by bike. It's just a craving. Maybe if I buy some fenders for my Giant, I will get over the chocolatey bike. Maybe it's PMS and I am craving chocolate. I just don't know!!!

Does your husband have any hobbies that you don't understand? I'd be tempted to buy it anyway, for that price, as long as there's room in the garage, budget and my husband's heart and I would be able to ride it regularly. But I have 3 bikes in my garage
Dawes Cambridge Mixte, Specialized Hardrock, Specialized Vita.

This not about you!!!! This is about the bike! Think what a good home you would be giving it. It needs you! Do it the favor. You will sleep better at night just knowing you saved this chocolate wonder from God knows what kind of home it could end up in. Get it now before someone else runs off with it. They will not be able to provide it the kind of life it deserves. This is your duty. Kinda like foster parenting or adoption. Step up, do the right thing.

    Did I miss anything?

You're not providing a good home for it if it sits around collecting dust in your house. Someone else might be able to get good use out of it. Someone who doesn't already have a bike.

Sorry but I do not subscribe to the belief that the correct number of bikes to have is "more than you have now."

    - Gray 2010 carbon WSD road bike, Rivet Independence saddle
    - Red hardtail 26" aluminum mountain bike, Bontrager Evoke WSD saddle
    - Royal blue 2018 aluminum gravel bike, Rivet Pearl saddle

    Gone but not forgotten:
    - Silver 2003 aluminum road bike
    - Two awesome worn out Juliana saddles

I'm right there with you. I have a commuter, a touring bike, a triathlon bike and a mountain bike. And I just saw a vintage Motobecane mixte on craigslist for $80 that I simply MUST have! I'm supposed to be looking for a bike for my boss- not for me!!!
I'm just an enabler tho- I won't tell you not to get it. If you don't tell me not to get the one I'm craving...

Sigh, it was not meant to be. Already sold. I bought a new bag and looked at fenders for my Giant, just as a consolation!

bummer! Maybe a makeover to your current bike will give your bike that "new bike" smell. You'll snag the next one. In the meantime, go get some chocolate.
