It gets plenty humid here and I find the cool wings work very well for me. After the ride, my arms and shoulders are dry but the rest of me is sweaty.

As you can see from my photo, I ride in a sun shirt most of the time. I wear a sport bra underneath, the armpit area is vented and I can roll the sleeves up & down and they snap in place. I am not racing, just riding. Love the breeze as I go downhill. I have several. I also always, always carry a bandana, When it is hot I get it soaking wet and tie it around my neck to help me keep cool. Stopping, taking off your helmet and soaking your head is excellent as well.

I often find one of those neck bandanas with the beads that swell up in water is useful.
I presoak it, fold it into a plastic bag, freeze it and then tuck it into a jersey pocket and break it out when needed. It is usually thawed out but still cool.
I also carry two bottles, one with electrolyte and the other with plain water so that if I get hot I can pour some over my head as needed.
I also always ride in a wicking cooler underlayer along with desoto arm coolers through most of the hot humid houston summer.
