I'd been putting off bridge repeats because the bridge is three miles from my house, and I really wasn't looking forward to a three-mile jog back after I was done. Finally figured what the heck, I rode my bike halfway, did a little extra loop to get a good two-mile warm-up, and had at it. It was weird to put on my running gear and get on the bike!
I saw a splash on my first or second repeat, looked down, and there was a dolphin playing around, swimming upside down. Then I saw a couple of manatees back for the season. The wildlife really let me enjoy a workout I hadn't been looking forward to. And I didn't have to worry about them charging me.![]()

Oh, I believe you! It was just one of those phrases that makes the reader do a double-take. "Did I read that right??".![]()
About 15-16 years ago, I did a solo bike tour that included riding through Yellowstone National Park. People in cars were remarkable laid back about the bison, but those of us on bikes were WAY more cautious!
I took the Active.com site off of my computer and stopped logging my runs.
I feel too much pressure.
Going to finish the C25K on my own time frame, so it doesn't interfere with cycling. I did run today, as it's been raining on and off, and I made a good call. I would have been in the middle of a 40 mile group ride during the worst of it, and I'm glad I looked at forecast and thought "47 degrees plus rain does not equal fun on a bike."
I finished week 3 of the program, with a run-walk on rolling hills. The last 3 minute run interval almost killed me, but it's done.

Got in a nice 3.5 mile run in after work. As usual my hamstrings tighten right up. Grrrroh well. I have been running about 3x/week with my longer runs on weekends. I am heading to Fla soon to visit some family. I will have to see how I do in the humidity. Today here in CO the humidity is 16% and this past weekend I heard it was 6%.
Oh I miss posting here!
I have been amiss from my running...busy work schedule and busy weekend with Indy car races in the middle of my little city!.
I did do a trail run this past Sunday...wasn't very fast but I did "ok". Been doing short little runs in my "barefoot" shoes as I am trying to build of time/mileage to make them my main running shoes.
Love the bison sighting as well as the dolphins and manatees. Last weekend on my bike ride we stopped along the water to see river otters--how cute are they?!
Hope to be posting a good 5-miler in the AM.

I ran today!
I could tell I had not run much as my legs were pretty rested. I have been busy at work and stay on my feet & walk up and down stairs, but my legs still felt good today. My goal was m 5+ mile loop and to do sort of a progression run. First mile at a bit of 11 min mile pace then increase by about 15 sec per mile. But I felt a bit more frisky and here are my times...overall I am pleased
Mile 1: 10:53
Mile 2: 1030 (ok so first 2 miles a bit quicker)
Mile 3: 10:09 (So I don't think I can get faster, but...)
Mile 4: 9:50 (Really? Sub 10--fast for me! Can I hold another 10 mmp?)
Mile 5: 9:52 (Woo Hoo!)
Then I walked and slow jogged to finish my my 5.34 miles in 55:14
I know this pace is not much for some of you, but 10 min miles or faster is darn fast for these little legs. Plus considering my lack of running lately and that we are in full spring/early summer weather. Waking up to temps in the low 70's, full sun and humidity creeping up. Today I work on my training plan as I think I am about 4 1/2 months (seems long but it is not) for Pikes Peak, thus marathon TP should begin!
