I am recovering from a bad whiplash injury, and she recommended I focus more on time in the saddle rather than the miles - I tend to focus on mileage regardless of weather conditions. Obviously windy miles produce more strain for the neck than calm...her advise was in another thread elsewhere on this forum.
I really wanted to ride today but just too much studying to do. Still have atleast 3-4 hours to go, big test Monday. Ugh. Maybe I'll get to ride to school later this week. M schedule sucks sooooooo bad right now. Boo hoo poor me poor me! Ok I'm done.
Hugs. That was the second week of March. Huuuge exam, good riding weather.Good luck on your exam!
I wanted to ride today. They'd been predicting rain, and it looked like it was going to start any second...and it did this all day. And it's only cleared up now. So no riding. Still going to try to get up early and drive down to the trail and get in a short ride tomorrow morning. My shoulder's still not thrilled with me.
At least I don't leave slime trails.

Saving for the next one...
Awwww, but your riding time IS coming, now just go and rock that test tomorrow
I got in an hour's ride late this afternoon. At this point in my recovery I am shooting for at least a 90 minute ride, but but it was more windy than it has been. I could feel tension building in my neck so I called it good after an hour. I could have ridden another 30 minutes, but it seemed prudent to back off a bit. I hope to get another decent ride in tomorrow night.
My goal is to ride 2 consecutive days with no repercussions that second night or the day after. When that happens then I know I can start pushing myself harder AND head back to the mountain bike trails (once I can ride at least 20 miles on consecutive days). A 90 minute non-windy ride is about 18 miles, so that is pretty darn close.
It was an awesome ride though, and I swear that I am riding stronger than I was in the fall. Even if I am not it feels like it and I will take it![]()
Thanks Owlie and Catrin:-) I hope the weather cooperates this week for some commutes. I just have so much to do this week it's making me crazy. I have one or more BIG tests every week from here until the first week of May. Well gotta get to bed so I can get up at 5 to review beforehand. Now if my jack$$ neighbors will stop stomping around MAYBE I can get to sleep. They were up stomping and being totally annoying until 1:30 last night.
