Your eloquent post conveyed more than what is just written and from one rescuer to another my sincere condolence for a loss of such wonderful and well loved kitty Figaroe.
18 years is a very respectable old age. This is a sadness we all have to endure, for all of fur babies can not live as long as us. And the sad day will eventually come. But until then, we give them our love, they give their love to us and to enjoy each other while we are together here on earth.
