There are buds on most of the trees, which usually don't appear until the 15th of April. Some years, the trees are not fully "green" until Memorial Day.
I need to get slowly used to heat. I am riding tomorrow, but thankfully, it will be mostly before noon.
Supposed to be 46 on Sunday. Back to reality.

we had deluging and flooding rains, some possible tornadoes and very strong winds today which has washed most of the oak and pine pollen out of the air for the day, but then the weatherman cheerfully informed us that the extra moisture encourages the oak trees to continue to bloom and put out oak pollen, and the extra moisture in the ground will lead to higher humidity (what 88% isn't high enough?).

I am so tired of feeling like I am going to bleed to death through my eyes or dehydrate completely through the runny nose.

Bah humbug! Although I did see a red bud in full bloom and the Bradford Pear trees along the freeway access road are blooming.

Next comes the grass pollen- Whee. Time to mainline the allegra!

    Yeah, that's right
Yesterday and the day before I did my first mountain bike rides and the conditions are just perfect. I expected mud from the thousands of snow days but it seems that the wind had dried everything. I'm so happy!

first commutes home of the season without gloves or my bike-lights (still too dark and cold in the morning)

Also that bad bout of spring-fever where I fell in love a single speed conversion and brought it home.

We have daffodils and then snow. Seems about normal for Salt Lake City.

I'm pretty sure we skipped winter AND spring here, and have moved directly to summer (80 yesterday, 85 today and tomorrow). I was out until after dark on the bike last night in shorts and short-slevved jersey. Heading into the woods tonight, and will be covered in Deep Woods Off - the ticks and mosquitoes are already a menace.

Yes, please use the DEET. I was hiking with one of my clients in Carlisle late on Monday and despite my long pants, changing immediately when I got home, and inspecting myself, I found what I think was a tic on me when I woke up yesterday. I got it off and decided, that since it was less than 24 hours, I was not going to get the antibiotics, since I can't take the symptoms that would cause, especially if for nothing. Watching for any symptoms, but I am erring on the side of caution.
